Day 1: Notre-Dame, Sainte-Chapelle and the Louvre
Start on the Île de la Cité. Notre-Dame reopened in December 2024 and entry is free; a free time-slot booking is optional. Sainte-Chapelle, famous for its stained glass, sits inside the Palais de Justice, so expect airport-style security and book a timed ticket; a combined ticket adds the Conciergerie next door. Cross Pont Neuf, the oldest standing bridge over the Seine, and walk to the Louvre. It is closed on Tuesdays and open until 9pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, and booking a time slot is recommended.
